In particular, she outlines not only the ‘new bugs on the block’, emerging probiotics with good evidence of efficacy to suit different dysbiotic scenarios but also discusses whether there is still a place for weeding approaches. ‘Out with the old and in with the new’, she says, as we find some of the older more traditional remedies for these conditions have not stood the test of time and a fresh approach is required in the management of these important and prevalent conditions.
