It is with great excitement & enthusiasm that today I can announce the launch of our crowdfunding campaign for the first independent Australian Naturopathic Summit to be held in Byron Bay on the 27-28th August 2016 (check out our campaign video below!).
This Summit is the creation of myself, Nirala Jacobi and Kathryn Simpson, who all individually noticed a big gap in the support available to Naturopaths striving to carve out their careers in a variety of areas (practice, education, medicinal herb growing and manufacture, corporate health, public health etc.). We’ve been working hard over the last few months to bring to fruition something that fills this gap & offers a truly unique educational experience and platform for our Naturopathic community.
This summit is unprecedented in Australia for the following reasons:
- It is free from commercial bias
- It is about practice and career paths, not products
- The primary objective is to support the Australian Naturopathic community, celebrating our diversity and creating a platform for our own Naturopathic torch-bearers in various areas (Practice, Research, Herbal Manufacture, Corporate Health, Entrepreneurship etc.) to help light the way for the broader professional community
The vision of this summit is to empower and inspire each Naturopath to embrace their purpose, passion and desired career path by:
- Instilling pride in ourselves and our profession by looking at our history, our challenges & opportunities now and in the future
- Creating a place to present and access un-biased information
- Offering a platform to professional and experienced Naturopaths who are doing exceptional things with their Naturopathy qualifications to inspire others to reach their personal career goals and gain insight on how it can be done
- Broadcasting solution-based approaches to the problems we face in this economy, society and the changing healthcare landscape with its increased emphasis on integration
- Networking to share learning, experiences and forge new business partnerships/mentorships/support networks
- Embracing the ancient arts and practices of our profession in view of ongoing supportive scientific research findings
- Forging professional relationships with ethical companies to align nationally and globally with our professional and personal values
